this morning as of Sept. 12 Hulu was fine now 10:35 pm Sept 12 Hulu is down......is Hulu down again?

Yep. Same here. No Hulu. Hope they get it figured out.

can u guys be honest, what is going on here is hulu breaking your link on purpose, what is up? this is troubling.

Two weeks of up & downs with different errors , this week is "Unable to connect" only happens on hulu. Everything else seems to working fine. Frustrating but will be worth it if it can be worked out...Later

Still no Hulu for me either. This is starting to get REALLY infuriating.

Can not access any Hulu videos.

wow... if you're so infuriated, maybe you should ask for your money back....

make your beta inputs and constructive concepts, otherwise use your cool FREE (for a time) application and shut up.

If they don't fix the *BETA*, then don't buy it when your trial expires.... simple. False sense of entitlement, much?

A version of a software product released to the public for use and testing with no guarantee from the originators that the program is free of bugs.

a version of internet posters unleashed onto the public with no useful insight and a guarantee that their posts will be extremely arrogant and generally bush-league.

We are sorry to hear about all the frustrations with PlayOn and intermittent Hulu support. Please do remember that it's a beta, and we're working hard to fix these issues.

The upcoming Hulu fix should be considerably more stable.

But I think Hulu doesn't want to be shared on set-top devices like this. That said, why would I purchase a product that will require constant updates and restarts to work? How long before Hulu stops the technical cat and mouse game and instead files an injunction to stop PlayOn?

Hey MediaMall, can we get some reassurance that Hulu and the other content providers and the console manufacturers are O.K. with what your doing?

I also wonder about this. The main reason I am using the software is Hulu. Since, for me, it works better on the 360, the Netflix stuff isn't a big seller for me. But I will gladly pay $30 for just the Hulu.

So maybe it just seems that Hulu is messing with its API to break Playon. I mean, it still connects to the service and at least shows what TV shows are there. I figure that Hulu should be cool with it since they show all the commercials and stuff.

We appreciate all the user feedback we have received on this forum and in other formats through the Beta period.

Hulu is definitely OK with third parties distributing their videos. In fact, it is a key part of their strategy. They have given general consent to any third party to embed videos in web pages or applications. PlayOn is one of those applications, and we use the Hulu Player to bring Hulu videos to our supported devices.

That said, there are some technical differences involved in bringing it to a TV display, versus a PC monitor display. Changes to Hulu's site can cause incompatibilities which temporarily break PlayOn, and we are optimizing that as part of the Beta process.

We have started a dialogue with Hulu and hope to work with them so that these changes can be communicated to us in advance.

As for the devices themselves, they are all using UPnP, an open public standard, so there are no permission issues involved.

At the end of the day, however, if any of you are unhappy or frustrated by the PlayOn service (especially once we come out of Beta), you by no means are forced to buy a license! Keep in mind that this is a Beta, so there will be technical issues, and many more updates over the coming weeks.

If you have more specific questions, feel free to contact us!

Thanks for the reply. Its good to know that Hulu isn't intentionally breaking the service, just that they really don't provide support if changes break an application.

Maybe we should be frustrated with Hulu for making those changes!

I commend the PlayOn team for trying to get out working updates as soon as they can.

.... No PlayOn...
