No complaints, just a possible "bug" report.

I have a couple issues with Netflix, streaming to PS3. When I rewind, and hit play, the movie/show "sticks". If I exit out and re-enter the show it jumps right to the spot where I hit play and goes forward. It does rewind fine...its just after I hit play again that it sticks.

Often when I'm watching a show, "tv-showX", show gets over, and I want to watch a different show, "tv-showY". When I jump to the Y folder I always get "no titles found". This happens in every show's folder. I have to go over to my computer, stop the server, and start it again. Then I'm good to go...until I switch again. It works perfect if I watch several episodes in a row of showX, or showY, it only bugsout when I switch between shows.

PS3 is wired, PC is on wireless if that helps at all. Other than that service is great, I hope you guys keep up the good work, and keep building on a fabulous product.

This is a known issue (though not posted anywhere else), and we should have a fix in the next release. Please note that in most cases, you don't need to restart the PlayOn server, but instead just navigate into a different service provider (YouTube, Hulu, etc.), and then try Netflix again.

First, kudos on a well thought out product. This was exactly what I was looking for to expand access to online content, mainly Netflix, throughout my home. I'm using PlayOn to serve a PS3 (could also use my Xbox360) and a PopcornHour. As mentioned in this thread, I've experienced the issue with the rewind and attempting to resume so I'm looking forward to a fix.

The problems with rewind did highlight the lack of an easy "resume" capability. With the Netflix player, as a last resort you can simply move the slider to the resume point and move on. Hopefully, some ability to do a resume will be included.

Another issue I came across, but I'm not sure if it affected my PlayOn experience, is filling of the Temporary Internet file folder. After giving up on a session that became unstable, I resorted to the PC and signing on to Netflix to finish up a movie. When I launched the Netflix player it said I had an insufficient amount of harddrive space (<1GB). When I checked my system drive, which is really just my OS and applications drive, it was nearly full because of large multi-GB video files (I assume these were my buffered movie files) in the Temp Internet directory. If PlayOn is creating these files, could there be a setting in the PlayOn server to move those files into a separate location?

Are you sure that the temporary Internet folder was filling up? This folder isn't used extensively by PlayOn, and certainly not for such large files. We do use the Windows partition for the transcoded media, but it should be only one file at a time, in general, and should always be cleaned up after playback. (We are also working on making this scratch space configurable in PlayOn, so that people aren't forced to use their Windows partition.)

Yes, I'm positive it was the Temp Internet files. I went into that directory and manually deleted the files, freeing up about 7GB or so. However, prior to that I had gotten a network error message and freeze up during play which resulted in several attempts to get back to the original place in the movie by FF (which I now know is not a good idea). I also noticed a PlayOn error popup (I think it mentioned some sort of .NET error) when I had a look at the server. Maybe that resulted in the scratch file not being cleared? BTW, I'm using vers 3190 of the software.

You should download the latest version (3196 as of today). The files in your temporary Internet folder must be from other programs, since we don't use that folder for the most part.

OK, it does not appear to be the PlayOn scratch space. I'm sitting here watching my C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\OX2X4MHH directory fill up with a Windows Media File as my wife watches a Netflix movie in the other room via PlayOn. This I assume is the Netflix session running in the background as PlayOn is doing its thing since there are a bunch of other Netflix related files in the directory loaded at the same time (screenshot available). This is after changing my target Temp Internet Files directory to another drive. Netflix seems to use it's own settings for it's cache. I guess this will be something to monitor to see if the Netflix is doing the proper housekeeping to prevent my system drive from filling up.

The support people at Netflix just informed me that the Watch Instantly feature doesn't disconnect properly when accessed in Play On. This means that if you attempt to access a movie from Netflix with your PS3 using Play On, and then attempt to disconnect, the proper signal does not get sent to Netflix and it will not disconnect. This will not only use up your access time, but keep you from watching any other movies while it is still, technically, accessing the original movie.
